Mushroompickers
Instructions for mushroompickers.
- First time? we need to see your Passport/ID to make a supplier number.
- Do not transport/pick mushrooms in plastic bags.
- Cut the roots on every mushroom you pick. (Except Mandelriska)
- Clean directly in the forest, (So you dont need to touch them as much.)
- Brush off dirt gently, Do not wash with water.
- Make sure as little dirt as possible comes along.
- No rotten, black edges, or mushy ones.
- Sell them as soon as you can or store them in +4C
- Protect them from rain, e.g., with a towel or newspaper.
- For very wet ones, a deduction for water can be made in the purchase.
- Use a sharp & clean knife, buy new ones regularly
- Do not pick mushy chanterelles that are so wet they lose their shape and fall apart.
- Chanterelles with dark edges have started to rot, leave them in the forest.
Small Kantarell/Chantarelle:
- Small, firm chanterelles measuring 2x2cm in cap and stem.
- The cap should be rolled in, not beginning to unfold.
- They should not be dark brown or obviously affected by, for example, dryness.
Trattkantarell/ Funnel chantarelle :
- Black edges indicate that they have started to rot, leave these in the forest.
- Beware of look-alikes; Toppig giftspindling often grow near the trumpet chanterelles (deadly poisonous☠). This mushroom is so dangerous, that if you mix these we have to say no to all tratt/funell from you that day.
- We want the spikes to remain intact!
- Handle with care, preferably in a separate basket.
- This one is easily damaged with rough treatment, gently place it in the basket and handle as little as possible.
- Trim the roots and check for wormholes in the stem. If worm-infested, the mushroom will not be purchased.
- Easily confused with trumpet chanterelles, pay attention to the color of the mushroom’s stem.
- Small, slightly round mushrooms are young, while large, spread-out ones are older and can be purchased for drying (lower price).
- Use your nose! Smell the mushroom; it should smell fresh. If it has a sour, gym sock-like odor, the mushroom is rotten.
- Slimy, limp trumpets can stay in the forest.
- Easily confused with Blek Taggsvamp & Brödticka.
- This mushroom should be pure white, not green or yellow underneath.
- Trim the roots and check for wormholes. Worm-infested mushrooms are not purchased.
- Light yellow, older mushrooms are purchased as Class 2.
- White under the cap, the cap should look a bit like a champagne cork.
- Trim the roots and check for wormholes. Mushrooms with worm infestation are not purchased.
- Cap size up to 20cm. (Class 2 has no size limit)
- No parasitic attacks. (Appears as a light spot under the cap, or as a pit)
- Preferably not eaten by, for example, snails, minor damage is acceptable in small quantities.
- If the mushroom is light yellow but meets the above criteria, it is purchased as Class 2.
- Young, the cap is firmly attached around the stem, forming a ”cork.”
- Trim the roots and check for wormholes. Worm-infested mushrooms are not purchased.
- Slightly older mushrooms that have opened slightly are purchased as Class 2.
- Cut off all dirt from the root.
- Firm, regardless of size.
- Young, firm, worm-free mushrooms where the cap has not opened are purchased as Class 1.
- Slightly older mushrooms with slightly opened caps are purchased as Class 2. Worm-free.

We have a bonus system that allows us to adjust the price up or down depending on the quality. If you are not satisfied with the price, you can always take back the mushrooms before signing the receipt. Always check prices and weights before signing so you know you are satisfied.
We want to help you succeed. Below are examples of what might cause issues during purchases. Sometimes, it’s tricky to decide what’s a base price item or what we buy for drying. We hope this guide clears up any confusion. Know that each purchase is carefully evaluated, and only what’s in the boxes is considered.
Here are clear examples of what we don’t accept, what we use for drying, and what reduces bonuses.
